Home/Heritage Index/Charlton Kings Local History Society

The Charlton Kings Local and Family History Society was formed in 1978 by Mary Paget and Michael Greet with the purpose of studying and researching the history of Charlton Kings, an area with a rich and diverse heritage from ancient times to the present day.
We exist to collect material and information concerning the history of Charlton Kings, study and publish information collected and stimulate public interest in, and appreciation of, local history.
The society organises regular talks, lectures, exhibitions, and local history walks, helping members and visitors learn more about the people, buildings, and events that have shaped Charlton Kings over the centuries. We also publish newsletters and research materials, while maintaining archives of photographs, maps, documents, and family records that are valuable to both local historians and genealogists.
For further information, we have a Charlton Kings Local History Friends Facebook group with over 3,000 followers, and our historic research journals are available to view here.
