Cheltenham Borough Council

Cheltenham Borough Council is working to make the town a place where people and businesses thrive. Through major regeneration projects, the council is bringing new homes, jobs and investment to the area, while protecting Cheltenham’s beautiful parks, gardens and historic buildings.

The council delivers a wide range of services that support daily life including housing and homelessness support, waste and recycling, planning, environmental health, licensing and community safety. It also works closely with partners to support local businesses, improve transport and create opportunities for young people and families.

Cheltenham’s heritage is one of the town’s greatest strengths. The council has built a strong reputation for protecting its unique character while embracing innovation and sustainable growth. Award-winning green spaces such as Pittville Park and Imperial Gardens are enjoyed by residents and visitors throughout the year.

Cheltenham’s festivals programme also plays a major role in the town’s success. Festivals celebrating literature, science, music, jazz, food and horse racing attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, bringing culture, creativity and community to every season.

By listening and investing in the future, the council continues to build a cleaner, greener and more connected borough.
