Gloucestershire Archaeology

GlosArch (Gloucestershire Archaeology), formed in Gloucester in 1967 as the Gloucester and District Archaeological Research Group (GADARG), is a volunteer archaeological society with over 160 members who are interested in the archaeology and history of Gloucestershire. We are a registered charity (Charity No. 1201251). Our members are encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills in archaeology through our annual lecture series, site visits, archaeology fieldwork and research. We publish an annual journal, Glevensis, containing reports on archaeological investigations, research articles and regular reviews.

We maintain close links with the archaeologists of Gloucester City Council and Gloucestershire County Council, Gloucestershire Archives, Bristol & Gloucestershire Archaeological Society (BGAS) and the Gloucestershire Local History Association. Our membership of BGAS Committee for Archaeology allows us to represent the local archaeological community on matters of concern.
