Lives of Colour

Lives of Colour works in a multifaceted approach with businesses, statutory agencies and communities for social and racial justice. We have five core pillars that influence our work: Racial justice and system change, Community voices, Advice and guidance, Community engagement and health and wellbeing.

Under these five pillars, Lives of Colour delivers a wide variety of programmes and projects supporting diverse community members and starting non-judgemental conversations around inequality and equity.

For example, our award-winning Swimmers of colour programme, helps tackle racial disparities surrounding water-based activities as well as promoting physical and mental wellbeing through staying active. This academic year (2025/2026) we have collaborated with the Cheltenham Education Partnership, under the theme of “I live in Cheltenham, but I come from…” we have delivered four programmes across the year that allow the students to explore topics of identity, heritage and belonging.

By celebrating differences and embracing positive change, we can support organisations and communities in Gloucestershire to be part of a harmonious, more equitable environment.

We believe there is a core importance in listening to unheard voices as there is a power in stories that allows you to gain a crucial insight into someone’s life and experiences.
