Information Sources for Antarctic History
In addition the Wilson Family Collection is an ever increasing archive of a Cheltenham family who by their interests and philanthropy made a significant impact on the town and beyond. It contains the family papers of Edward Adrian’s father, Edward Thomas Wilson, who was instrumental in founding the Camera Club, museum, library, a fever hospital, district nursing organisation, and clean water provision for the town. Edward Thomas’s wife, Mary Agnes Wilson, made her mark by writing a book on chicken rearing; and all their children, not just Edward Adrian, played an active role in society. We hold, for example, First World War correspondence from Bernard and Jim Wilson; their cousins Francis and Charles and the Wilson women.
